*Carry Her Heart by Holly Jacobs

Carry Her Heart by Holly Jacobs

“Maybe we live our lives constantly becoming and rebecoming. Maybe we’re always in the process of metamorphosing into something new.”

In her journal, writer Piper George notes the change of seasons. Each entry marks the passage of time since she became a teen mother and put her baby up for adoption. Her words flow together, painting a picture of loss, hope, and enduring love for the daughter she’s never forgotten. But one autumn, a new presence appears in its pages and in her life: her neighbor, Edward “Ned” Chesterfield.

As winter thaws to spring, Piper and Ned develop a friendship that could be something more…if only Piper would open her heart. But the loss of her daughter has irrevocably shaped her life. And having given so much of herself away, she’s not sure if she can give Ned all that he deserves. But with him at her side, Piper just might learn that a heart’s love is never truly lost.

~*~*~*~ My Review ~*~*~*~

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
There are some books you open up and they just grip you from word one, this is one of those books for me.  Holly's books are special to me as they are based in the area where I live and that is always fun and what got me started in following her, but not why I pick them up and devour them from cover to cover.  Her writing touches the heart, makes you laugh, cry, sometimes want to throw the book/reader across the couch, and fall in love with her characters.

Piper has spent her life helping others. After giving up her baby for adoptions when she was little more than a child herself, she has concentrated on making lives of others better by her good deeds.  When Ned mores in next door they develop a friendship that spans through the years and leads into a much deeper relationship.

This book is not your traditional romance, it spans several years and will take you through the gamut of emotional ups and downs and leave you with only good feelings. Warning, you will want to keep the tissues close on this one.

I received this book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.

~*~*~*~ About the Author ~*~*~*~

Holly Jacobs leads a life full of romance and adventure. From skydiving to jet-setting around Europe, from snorkeling in coral reefs to writing while wearing beautiful silk peignoir sets and popping chocolate bonbons, Holly Jacobs leads a life that is the epitome of romance...

Well, my fictional life sounds more interesting, but not better than my real life. Really, I'm the happily married mother of four. I cook a lot, garden and weave baskets! I write for Montlake Romance and Harlequin. My books range from lighthearted comedies to more serious dramas and now even mysteries...but at heart, they're all stories of love.

I don't always set out to write a series of books, but seem to find myself gravitating to them. Because so many people have asked, I've posted lists of all my series in order at www.hollyjacobs.com/bookseries.html. I really try to make each story stand alone, but many of my readers enjoy reading the series in order. Hope this helps!

Thank you to everyone who's picked up a single book, or more of them. I'm so lucky to be surrounded by so much support!

Holly

(PS I have had problems with books I didn't write being self-published here and listed 'by Holly Jacobs'. If you don't see this bio attached to a book it's not by me.)
