Sage Spelling bio
Sage Spelling fell in love with the romance genre long before she realized her dreams of becoming a writer. As a small child, she was fascinated with fairytales and remembers curling into her mother’s side while her mother would spin tales of faraway worlds, where they all lived happily ever after. Nowadays, Sage tells her own tales of the happily ever after, but with a sexy and passionate twist. She’s a believer of love at first sight, and that love concurs all.
In-between her very boring day job and writing sexy stories, she is in the process of attaining her Bachelor’s Degree in English and Creative Writing. Inked Hearts is her first publication. Find Sage at, Facebook, or tweet her at @SSpellingAuthor.
Excerpt from High Stakes –
Blake refused to let me walk back to my dorm on my own when we left the bar. My one hour dinner had turned into three hours alone with Blake. He walked really close to me, and I enjoyed the warmth of his body shielding some of the gruesome wind. He insisted I wear his scarf again, and his scent made my insides warm. When we reached my door, I stood one step above him so we were at eye level. I took off his scarf and wrapped it around his neck.
“You can keep it.” he insisted, placing his hand over mine.
“Thank you, but you have a long walk yourself.”
“No, it’s not that far.”
“Aren’t you at the frat house?”
“Nope, I have a condo right down the street with Mitch and two other roommates.”
“Oh.” I stared down at his chest, too embarrassed to look him in the eyes.
He lifted my chin with his finger and his stare burned into mine. My heart pounded in my ears. He was so close I could smell the mixture of beer and mint on his breath, and the sensation of the warm air of his mouth on my chin made my stomach do that flip-flop thing again.
“Are we ever going to talk about the night of the party?” His question took me by surprise. I’d been hoping he wouldn’t bring it up.
“Was I that bad of a kisser?” he whispered.
“No . . . it was a mistake, Blake, and since I’m your tutor now, it can never happen again.”
“So you liked kissing me?” He was so close I couldn’t think straight.
“Yes . . . I mean . . . Blake, please, can we forget about that night?” Heat flushed my face.
“Anything you want, Supergirl.” He leaned in and kissed my cheek. “Goodnight.”
“Night,” I managed to mumble. My legs wobbled toward the door and I looked back to see him still there, waiting for me to be safely inside. I gave him a small wave and closed the door behind me. I leaned against the door and attempted to catch my breath. There was some serious chemistry between us, and even with my inexperience, I sensed it. And it scared the hell out of me.

Teasers from High Stakes –
Teaser 1:
“You have a way to make everything better. Do you know that?”
“Yeah, that’s what classmates are for.” I used my fingernails to tease his washboard abs through his fitted thermal.
He took a step closer to me, leaving little space between our lips. “Girlfriend.”
“Classmate,” I breathed.
“Classmates that kiss.” His eyes burned into mine.
“Oh, yeah,” I whispered just as he kissed me softly. Gently, his warm lips teased mine in soft and passionate kisses. Tasting me. Teasing me. I moaned against him.
“What else do classmates do?”
“They study,” I whispered while attempting to conceal my laugh.

Teaser 2:
“All the more reason to make a wish and see. Besides, today is your birthday. You’re owed a birthday wish.”
“I don’t know . . .”
I nuzzled the side of her cheek with my own. “What’s the worst that could happen? You would fall madly in love with me?”
“You’re so cocky, Blake Holland.”
“You have no idea,” I whispered.
Teaser 3:
She couldn’t hide her attraction to me. It was obvious she was playing hard to get. Good thing too, because I fucking loved a challenge.

Teaser 4:
“It really is beautiful out here.”
“Yeah . . .” My eyes were on her. Her body. Her curves. The way her hair softly danced in the moonlight, putting the sky to shame with its beauty.

Excerpt from Tin Man’s Dance –
“There’s a field not far from here. We could have a picnic. You should see the flowers that bloom there.” I bit my lip because he would see them next year. I wouldn’t. I kept going, my breaths materializing physically in the cool air. “There are roses and hydrangeas and…”
“Lilies? Are there lilies?”
“Stargazer lilies. Do you know what those are?”
He shook his head.
“They look like pink stars bursting open. They’re lovely.”
“Are they tall?”
I tilted my head back, eyeing him curiously. “Not really. Why do you ask?”
“Cause I want to know if we can f*ck in that field without being found out.”
I spun around, facing him. He feigned an innocent look while I stabbed my finger against his chest. “I can’t believe you transformed my beautiful fantasy into soft-core porn.”
James leaned his forehead against mine, his mischievous smirk causing my panties to dampen. “There is nothing soft-core about me. Besides, your fantasy was making me grow a vagina.”
I stared at him for a second before breaking out into a full-on laugh attack. I think we laughed hard enough to wake the sun back up.
His hand shifted to my lower back. He bent his mouth close to my ear. “I don’t know a damn thing about flowers, but I can tell you without a doubt there is no lovelier Lilly than the one I’m holding.”
Okay…so that just happened.

Teasers from Tin Man’s Dance –
Teaser 1:
Lilly, if we are in a fairy tale, then you, my beautiful dancing girl, have successfully broken one hex, only to cast another.
“Not myth, a legend.”
Teaser 2:
“Same diff. But I agree, it would be foolish of us.” Even as he said it, he was inching closer, closing the gap I’d made between us.
I took a step back. “Behave.”
“Kiss me good-night, lover. I want to fall asleep with the taste of you on my tongue.”
Note to self: boys who took English lit could melt a girl’s panties right off.

Teaser 3:
“My mother always said ‘It’s never too late to start something as long as you intend to finish it.’”
“That’s good advice.”
My mom had an expression too: Sometimes you find trouble, and sometimes you find troubled. It takes a smart woman to know the difference. Clearly, in James Hutchinson I had found both.

Synopsis Logo
This is the tale of first and last loves. And those that come in between…
Jack Harrison is a relentless overachiever who leaves little in the way of compromise. A businessman to the core—he’s hell-bent on being at the top of the food chain. After all, no one can trip you up if you’re on top, as he likes to say. The problem for Jack is there’s only one thing that continually trips him up—and that’s her.
Amelie Rose, with a name like poetry and a heart of gold, as her father always said, is a free-spirited photographer who has managed to land a job at one of the top travel magazines in the world. This is both a blessing and a curse since Amelie never stays in one place for long and has refused to commit to anything—ever.
It might seem to the casual observer that these two have almost nothing in common. But fate would disagree. The story chronicles Jack and Amelie’s lives from childhood into adulthood, beginning when they meet as then eight- and ten-year-olds at summer camp specifically designed for children who’ve lost too much.
As fate steps in, and that first summer seals the deal, they come to depend on each other in ways neither of them expected, with each summer bringing them closer than the last. As they come to terms with life and loss, with hanging on and letting go, they’ll teach each other that some bonds are meant to last. Together, they will travel the world, meeting in various places where they’ll come together, and fall apart, all the while struggling to discern if the other could possibly be the one.
This unlikely love story takes us on an adventure where two people come of age, fall in and out of love, and question the role timing plays in it all.
Their story is proof that neither time nor distance—perhaps not even death—can destroy what love creates.
So it seems the only question left to ask is whether love is enough?

My Dearest Jack,
If you’re reading this, then you’ve probably just had your heartbroken for the first time. Or at least it feels that way, anyway. But I want you to remember, son, that this isn’t the first time (nor will it likely be the last) that you’ve felt this way. You’ve been through so much already, and if you’re reading my letter, then obviously, you’ve survived thus far. And while it may not feel like it just now, you’ll survive this, too.
There are so many things I want to tell you about love, Jack. Oh, how I wish I were there to tell you this in person, to hug you, and hold your hand. Though,I’m guessing at this age, you might not like hand holding so much anymore. I try to picture you, what you look like now, where you are as you’re reading this, and it brings me so much joy to think of you all grown up. I looked in on you tonight as I’ve done every night since the day you were born, and as I watched you sleep, I pictured the man you’ll become. It’s hard not to feel a little bit bitter knowing I won’t be there to see it all. Oddly enough, though, it is with that sentiment that I want to tell you about love. If you are reading this and your heart is broken, you are lucky, Jack. I want you to pause a moment and let that really sink in. You are so damned lucky. Feeling this way, it means that you are living and more importantly—that you are loving. You cannot know how lucky you are to love until you’ve felt the immense pain of having to let that love go. It is a part of life. And as I am learning, it is also a part of death. Do not waste it. Do not play small. Lick your wounds, but then get back out there. Love harder next time. Most people don’t do that, you see. They get hurt once, and they hide behind it. They use it to excuse themselves into living guarded lives, never quite feeling the passion, the love that they are capable of. But not you, son. Don’t make that mistake. And I hope that if you consider taking that route, you’ll think of me and you’ll feel my love and know that even though I may have lost my battle, that I didn’t go down without a fight.
Neither will you, my love.
Neither will you.
I love you always,
P.S. Tips for healing a broken heart: time, above all else (don’t worry, you won’t feel this way forever), ice cream, and meaningful work. Now is the time to start a new project, Jack. Try something new, throw yourself into it, and let yourself get lost in it. You’ll come out all right in the end. You always have.

Her best guess is that it's genetic. She is the author of two novels, Bedrock and Breaking Bedrock, with plans to release a third and fourth in 2014. In addition, she founded a local network for women in 2012, which has grown to over 1200 members. Currently, she occupies a job she enjoys--serving and running Austin Women's Network. From the minute Ronan Bernhard roars into Tina Snowdon’s sleepy village on his Harley, he inhabits her thoughts and dreams. The inked mountain rescue biker is a sex-on-legs hunk, and her knickers aren’t the only ones that melt in a flash at his wicked smile.

Ronan, however, keeps his distance and simply becomes another client of her cleaning firm, until the morning she turns up and finds his cottage trashed, and her life is turned upside down.

Bear Shifter Ronan recognises his mate the minute he scents her. Having her clean for him means he can watch over her from afar, because to claim her as his mate and sub is out of the question.

As the village protector he has responsibilities he can’t ignore—duties that will place Tina in grave danger—even if she were able to accept not only his bear, but also his darker desires.

The morning she finds him injured, his bear takes over…

~They’re the men mothers warn their daughters to stay away from~

In 1957 the tiny village of Middle Brook is caught between two warring MCs, the Mongrels and the Lupines. As a fledgling Guardian witch, not yet in full control of her immense powers, Joanne Lilley knows to stay away. When she witnesses the Mongrels leader being run off the road, the instant connection she feels to the wolf shifter changes everything. Is he the one destined to awaken her?

Henry Hastings is the Alpha of his pack, and the village’s Protector. He’s a man with a vision—all shifters will unite against the evil that haunts Cumbria at night—something the Lupines vehemently oppose. Finding his mate is a young and innocent witch, wasn’t part of that vision, but the fates have decided.

Being with him places Joanne in danger, as her awakened powers are sought by his enemies.

When disaster strikes, Henry is faced with an impossible choice…

Never mess with the fates…

Rebecca Hastings has no intention on settling down with some over possessive shifter. This fledgling guardian witch might need to have sex to awaken her powers, but surely anyone will do?

When Lion Shifter Leon Friars interrupts her outdoor tryst with the college heart throb, she is simultaneously relieved and shocked. This sex on legs hunk can’t be the boy she grew up with. This Protector makes her want to forget all of her plans, and just submit, and that will never do.

Being mated to Rebecca had not been in Leon’s plans either, but his lion has spoken. When Rebecca denies the bond between them, a heartbroken and furious Leon allows her to run away.

The fates will not be denied, however, and when Rebecca returns years later, Leon has to decide whether he can ever trust her again.

Is it too little, too late, or does love conquer all—fates included?

She is a Protector, sworn to kill vampires, not mate with them.
Eva Arnett is not having a good day. Not only does she prang her bike, but she is also set upon by a nest of vicious vamps, and then wakes up in an enigmatic stranger’s bed—naked and tied up. Her eagle has lost its mind. The ancient vampire cannot be her mate, but she cannot ignore this overwhelming urge to submit.
Dimitrius Zolnerovich isn’t overly fond of those pesky Protectors keeping him from his food supply. However, when he comes across Eva fighting for her life, he has to intervene. Six vamps against one woman—that’s just bad manners—even if she is a Protector.
He should keep his distance, but this experienced Dom cannot resist the gift of Eva’s submission, and besides, his myshka needs watching.
When trouble hits the village, lethal choices have to be made that may well spell the end for them both.

Her Bear Protector
“If only you could see yourself, babe. Those are nipple clamps, linked by a chain, and if I do this…” Something tugged at her nipples at the same time, and Tina arched her back and moaned. Oh lord, that felt way too good. Tiny shards of pain skittered from her nipples in an invisible line to her clit, and she panted her arousal.
Ronan’s chuckle sunk into her consciousness like molten chocolate, and his next words sent her on fire.
“You look so fucking sexy, babe. I’ve got my cock in my hand and I’m stroking it for you. My fingers are wet with my pre-cum. Here, taste what you do to me.”
He ran his fingers along the seam of her mouth, and Tina opened eagerly. His unique salty musk exploded on her taste buds, and she sucked the digits further into her mouth. Ronan groaned, the bed dipped, and she needed no encouragement to open her legs wide. Instead of taking her however like she expected him to do, something cold hit the inside of her thigh and she yelped in surprise. He withdrew his fingers and surprise turned into a moan when that thing started to vibrate and Ronan held it right over her clit. Pleasure surged and her hips bucked upward to get closer to those delicious vibrations. Her orgasm build in ever tighter circles, and just as she was about to fly off that cliff, the vibrations stopped.
Tina yanked at her restraints and swore.
“Fuck, noooooo, damn it.”
A swat to her thigh was her reward, and Ronan’s voice held an edge of steel.
“Such foul language from my girl. I think she needs something else to occupy that mouth.”

The Witch’s Protector
Henry smiled and kickstarted his own bike. The powerful machine roared into life and Joanne could feel the vibrations rise up through her toes. Oh my, she hadn’t really been expecting that, as her clit contracted and shivers of excitement darted across her skin.
The infuriating man noticed of course, because he revved the engine up more, winked at her, and then leant down to whisper in her ear.
“Just think about sitting on top of this, with all those vibrations right where you need them. You have my permission to come as many times as you want, as long as you imagine it’s my cock inside your tight little pussy.”
Joanne opened her mouth to give him what for, but nothing came out bar a strangled squeak, and Henry laughed and revved the motor even more. He handed her a Mongrels leather jacket and the ugliest helmet ever, and having recovered her equilibrium somewhat, she stared at him.
“You have got to be kidding me, if you think I’ll put that on my head.”
Henry ignored her, straddled his bike, and grinned.
“You’re the one who insists she needs to get home. I’ll be quite happy to keep you here, little red, preferably tied to my bed and gagged, so that you can’t mouth off at me.” He paused for a second, and Joanne knew she had blushed as red as the late blooming roses wrapped around the porch of the pack house at those outrageous words. He hadn’t tempered his voice either, and his assembled men all grinned.
Oh he was going to pay for that, just as soon as she figured out how she could get him back for those words.

Her Lion Protector
“So fucking wet for me already. I wonder what you’ll do if I do this.” Flinging her legs over his shoulder, he buried his nose in her pretty pussy and inhaled.
Unintelligible sounds spilled from his girl’s lips when he ran his stubble across her inner thigh, and licked along her slit. Leon groaned and his dick hardened anew when her sweet musk exploded on his tongue. Rebecca’s heels dug into his back, and she ground herself against his mouth, as he licked, and nibbled and thrust his tongue inside her clenching pussy hole. A gush of her feminine arousal was his reward, and his lion alternated between purring and growling as he drank his fill. Grasping her hips to hold her still, Leon took her right up to the point of climaxing before he bit into her inner thigh and withdrew.
Rebecca swore, and bowed off the bed as far as she could. Her bound hands clenched in his long hair, and she tried to urge him back down, but he laughed and wrenching free of her grasp, took her hands and pulled them back above her head.
“Oh, no you don’t, pip. This is punishment, remember. You will not come until I give you permission to, and you will keep your hands out of my way, or I’ll tie them so tightly you will not be able to move at all.”
“Noooo, please….” Head thrashing from side to side and with yet more of her juices spilling over her thighs and running into her butt cheeks, her entire body flushed, she looked just like he wanted her to. A woman on the edge, desperate to come, yet not allowed to.
“Oh, I think you mean yes, Sir.”

The Vampire’s Protector
“That doesn’t seem that old for you to—”
“Before Christ, myshka,” he said, interrupting her, and smiled at her sharp intake of breath.
“But that means you’re like...Holy Cannoli. Are there more of you?”
Dimitrius chose not to answer that, and she screwed up her nose, and nodded.
“Yeah, dumb question, I get it. You’re hardly going to tell me, when I hunt your kind.” She pulled her legs up to her chest and hugged them to her in a defensive move that meant he had to close the distance between them, and she flinched when he sat down next to her and lifted her hair off her face.
“You’re very good at it too, from what I observed last night. It was one of the reasons why I interfered. And don’t call them my kind.
She looked up at him and frowned, presumably at the intonation he put on the last two words.
“Really comparing me to those things would be comparing a Moped to a Harley.” He grinned when she laughed at that comparison, and visibly relaxed.
“Yeah, guess they’re not quite in the same league, huh? So, is this where you’re telling me that you’re really a good and peace-loving vamp?”
Her smile slipped when he bared his fangs at her, and burying his hand in her hair bent her backward until her bare throat was exposed to him. Her heartbeat went into overdrive when he ran his canines along her skin, and then retracted them before he hovered his mouth over hers. Her lips opened in a silent invitation, and her sweet, aroused scent hit him in the gut.
“Don’t make the mistake of underestimating me, myshka. There is no such thing as a good vampire.”
