~ Book Synopsis ~
From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Lynsay Sands comes a classic short story of a knight in need of a bride… Lady Alice knows she is not the type to entice a man. She’s too voluptuous, too intelligent, too strong-minded. Why, she even reads! But then Jonathan, Earl of Fairley, arrives at court. Tall, dark and handsome, the knight is any woman’s dream. And he has just been ordered by the king to find a bride…and Alice is to help him! Jonathan has been evading his mother’s matchmaking schemes for years, so why does she insist that Lady Alice isn’t for him? Alice is only to aid in his search for a bride, yet Jonathan can’t help but be distracted by her glorious hair the color of a sunset, and her figure that is like a lush berry about to burst to full ripeness... Has Jonathan fallen prey to love?Excerpt
"Are you all right?" Alice glanced up in surprise at the concern in Lord Jonathan's voice. He wasn't looking at her; his gaze was traveling down her body in the wake of his hands as he checked her over to be sure she wasn't injured. She flushed at the familiar way his fingers skimmed over her, and took a quick step back, nearly tumbling again. "I am fi-fine," she got out a little breathlessly as he caught her arms to steady her. "Really," Alice added when he continued to look concerned. After a brief pause, he swallowed and nodded, then turned to grab at the reins of his mount. Her gaze moved distractedly back to the small swatch of blue cloth on the ground by her feet. She was about to draw Jonathan's attention to it, when she was suddenly caught by the waist and lifted onto his horse. Alice promptly began to protest. "Oh, really, my lord. There is no need for us to ride. I can walk back to the clearing. I—" At last she gave up her protests, mostly because he was ignoring her. He mounted in front of her and drew her hands around his waist. "Hold on," he instructed. Alice nodded against his back, breathing in deeply to try to steady her nerves. It was rather novel to be in such close proximity to a man. She had never done so before. Unmarried women were simply not allowed such familiarity. Of course, this was an unusual circumstance, and… Her thoughts died as she breathed in the scent of him. He smelled of the woods and the river and…male. It was a surprisingly pleasant mix, she decided, breathing it in again as her fingers interlocked at his middle. Feeling the muscles of his stomach bunch and ripple, she flattened her fingers over them to get the full sensation, then, realizing what she was doing, stopped breathing in embarrassment. Her fingers stilled. Of course, Alice couldn't go long holding her breath. She managed to do so for the short ride back to the clearing, but there the breath left her in a slow hiss. The place was empty. Lady Fairley and her uncle had not waited for them; they had apparently ridden on ahead. Alice recalled the small swatch of cloth she had spotted near the horses and pondered silently, wondering why Lady Fairley had been by the horses. Surely she hadn't untied Alice's mount and let it go? Had she really been so annoyed with Alice as to wish to have her walk back to the castle? "Well, we shall have to ride quickly to catch up," Lord Jonathan said. Alice glanced at the back of his head, then pressed close and held on tightly as he spurred his mount into a trot. She didn't hold her breath this time. Instead she sat, her breasts pressed against his back, her hands clutched at his front, breathing in deeply of his scent. She was enjoying it so much, it took her most of the ride to realize that despite his words, Jonathan wasn't trying very hard to catch up to her uncle and his mother. He had the horse going at a trot, but a rather slow one, really. They had ridden here faster. She was so startled by the realization that she loosened her hold and started to pull away, but he stopped her by catching her hands with one of his own. "You had best hold on," he said. "I would not wish to see you fall." Alice wondered at the husky note to his voice, but decided to merely enjoy the ride. She relaxed against him.Purchase Links

Better When He's Bad
“It’s dark and dangerous and set in a fictitious underworld/bad part of town. The men in all of the books are way more along the line of being anti-heros than true leading men. I guess the easiest way to sum them up is by saying the books are all about the choices these characters have to make and the outcomes and results of those decisions. Bax’s book is all about having to make the hard choices and what becomes of him and his lady in doing so. They are super fun, very atmospheric and I think really what writing a bad boy should be like if you’re going to do it :)”
Look in the back of Nash’s book to find the first chapter of “Better When He’s Bad.”
Synopsis
Welcome to the Point
There’s a difference between a bad boy and a boy who’s bad . . . meet Shane Baxter.
Sexy, dark, and dangerous, Bax isn’t just from the wrong side of the tracks, he is the wrong side of the tracks. A criminal, a thug, and a brawler, he’s the master of bad choices, until one such choice landed him in prison for five years. Now Bax is out and looking for answers, and he doesn’t care what he has to do or who he has to hurt to get them. But there’s a new player in the game, and she’s much too innocent, much too soft…and standing directly in his way.
Dovie Pryce knows all about living a hard life and the tough choices that come with it. She’s always tried to be good, tried to help others, and tried not to let the darkness pull her down. But the streets are fighting back, things have gone from bad to worse, and the only person who can help her is the scariest, sexiest, most complicated ex-con The Point has ever produced.
Bax terrifies her, but it doesn’t take Dovie long to realize that some boys are just better when they’re bad.

EXCERPT
My job ticked along way better than expected. Once I was on the inside, had my clearance, and put my naturally excessive curiosity to work, doors opened. And I opened them.
I popped my head into the lab walking back to my desk after an aircraft inspection. “Any little green men in here?” I asked.
“Glenn,” my boss, who happened to be in the room, said. “I was just talking about you.”
“Yep, my ears were burning. That’s why I stopped by. Whatcha need?” I asked.
My boss looked like he didn’t know quite what to make of me, but overlooked any reservations he may have had, just like anyone else who saw my potential and took a chance on me had. For those folks, I was grateful. A flashback to my fourth grade teacher, Mrs. Emerson, came to mind. She was the only one who took the time after class to sit down with me and re-explain each day’s lesson, because sitting there in a room full of quiet kids, listening, drove me ape shit. Instead of listening, I fidgeted in my chair wondering what was for lunch, sometimes getting out of my chair for a better view out the window, especially when a plane flew overhead. Mrs. Emerson was nice. “I have one just like you at home,” she said. I’m not sure what she meant, but at the time, I was thinking “nice little boy.” During our one-on-one’s, she’d speak to me like I mattered and never criticized me for not being like all the other kids who could sit in their chairs, listen, and understand, going off to do their homework by themselves after class. We did my homework together, and she gave me M&Ms after each problem I did right. Once I figured that out, I aced almost everything because there was a good reason to do the work. M&Ms right away, not some dumb letter grade handed back on a page three days later. When she explained to my folks that I knew the material, they laid into me about why I couldn’t do it at home in my room, but they clearly didn’t understand the power of M&Ms . . . or one-on-one.
“Conroy,” my boss said, “we need you in Seattle. You’re the first guy I thought of when this assignment came up—right up your alley.”
I was intrigued. My ears perked up when the words “need you” hit the air. Plus the fact that he thought of me, and “right up your alley” sounded phenom. Having gotten my attention, I listened intently as boss man outlined the particulars of the job, throwing in words like “top secret” and “special clearances” and “national security.” I was all over it and would have accepted right then and there if I didn’t need to consider Camryn.
“We need you ASAP,” he said.
“Let me talk it over with my wife,” I said, somehow managing to stifle my excitement. I hoped she’d like the idea too.

LOVE, CARRY MY BAGS – SYNOPSIS
Camryn Johnson’s world is turned upside down when long lost love, Reese Dahlgren, re-enters her life at a pivotal point in her already challenging marriage. She faces an excruciating predicament: choose between a broken home for her daughter or a broken life for herself.
After her parents' divorce, Camryn first meets high school basketball star, Reese, at the Harvard Milk Day Festival bed races. Reese hides baggage of his own…until Camryn melts his heart and learns secrets entrusted only to her. Still, the weight is too much to bear. Unable to cope, Reese unwittingly backs Camryn into a corner during his air force enlistment—love him from afar, or leave him.
Enter aerospace engineering student, Glenn Conroy. Persistent and savvy, he woos Camryn during her junior year of college and wins her heart. Or does he? When Reese re-enters her life, further disrupting her tenuous marriage, Camryn turns to best friend, Megan, for advice, but refuses to believe Megan’s suggestion that she’s caught in a “simple” love triangle.
Camryn unveils hidden mysteries and secrets as she embarks on a life-changing journey of revelation and forgiveness, transcending doormat qualities inherited from her mother, and in the process finds what life's struggles are really all about.
C.R. Everett's heart-wrenching debut novel takes the reader on an emotion-packed journey that lingers long after the last page is turned.
LOVE, CARRY MY BAGS – EXCERPT
Reese’s dad was putzing around the kitchen when we walked in. “Oh, you’re staying too,” he said, my duffel prodding his memory. “You can put your stuff in Helen’s room. Since she’s not using it anymore, you may as well.”
“Hey.” Reese greeted his father.
“If you want something to eat, you’ll have to fix it the old fashioned way.” Mr. Dahlgren stirred leftover spaghetti heating on the stove. “Your mother made sure I’d be living in the dark ages when she absconded with the microwave . . . . At least she left the television.” Reese and I exchanged uneasy glances.
“Well, that’s a good thing because you and Reese would be bored watching the microwave together while I do my homework,” I said, grasping for the bright side. “Reese, would you show me upstairs?” I asked, conveniently escaping the awkward moment.
He carried our bags up the stairs and placed mine on a low-set king-sized bed in the first room on the left. The room reminded me of my grandmother’s house with dimly lit gabled walls and a faint odor of must, the vintage green bedspread, a ‘50s remnant. “Your parents didn’t sleep together?” I asked, surprised. It hadn’t occurred to me that married people might not sleep together. Well, there were the Samuelson’s I’d heard of, but they were in their nineties and had health issues which made a shared bed logistically impractical.
“They haven’t shared a room for years,” Reese said, like this was normal—at least in his parents’ household. I stood, focusing through the bed, my head, lost.
“Look,” I said with reluctance, “I’ve got some homework that’s due tomorrow. Why don’t you go downstairs and spend some time with your dad?” Reese’s eyes told me he knew it was the right thing to do even though he’d rather not.
“I’m so glad you’re here,” he reiterated, giving me a parting kiss then closed the door behind him. I flopped on the bed, opened Accounting II.
Twenty T-squares later, Reese knocked on the door.
“I brought you some water.” He set the glass on the bedside table then sat down next to me. “How’s it going?”
“I’m almost done.” I took a sip of water. “Thanks.”
“Good, I could use some company down there. Dad keeps bringing up sore subjects, between channel surfing. ‘Have you spoke to your mother?’ ‘Why did she leave?’ ‘The grass isn’t greener . . . it’s damn brown for me.’ ‘Why don’t you do something worthwhile with your life?’ Stuff like that.” I put my accounting text down and climbed onto Reese’s lap. I wanted to make all his bad disappear.

“Use mine.”
“Use yours? That’s kind of gross.”
“Is the thought of my tongue in your mouth gross too? Because that could have an impact on our romantic relationship.” I guess he had a point there.
I went into the bathroom, washed up, did everything else that half a bowl of rum punch and three glasses of water made necessary, and then contemplated his toothbrush. Fuck it, I was going for it. I brushed my teeth and headed for the hall. I saw him lying on the sofa, punching a pillow to soften it up and I wandered in to say goodnight. Okay, and to ogle a little because he had taken his shirt off again and his body was beautiful.
“Goodnight,” I said trying not to stare. I wasn't succeeding very well and the amused look on his face told me that he had noticed.
“Goodnight,” he said, trying not to look at my boobs, bouncing around jauntily under McGruff the Crime Dog as I moved. He wasn't succeeding too well either, I might add.
“If you need anything I’ll be in there,” I said glancing off toward his bedroom.
“It’s my apartment, I’m sure I can find whatever I need.” He gave into temptation and let his eyes drop for a moment to my body. “Whatever I need that it would be appropriate for me to have tonight,” he added, sounding frustrated. He grabbed his iPad from the end table, and settled into read.
“What are you reading?” I asked curiously.
“Espionage thriller.”
“Ah, I thought you wanted to read the rest of my…”
“I do, want to read them, but I couldn't handle that tonight with you here and half naked. I might forget my rules about women who have been drinking to excess. Now go get some sleep, because you’re getting me hard again, and if I practice any more self-love tonight, I might get carpel tunnel.”
“You mean you were…” I must have looked surprised.
“What did you think, I was just really hygienic?”
“I thought maybe you were taking cold showers,” I admitted.
“Hell, no. I don’t waste God’s gifts.”
My Review:
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
After Reading the first two books in this series and absolutely loving them, I was excited to be offered the chance to read and review the third book. Besides that, I really wanted to know what adventures/trouble Lily and Adam would get into.
I have to honestly say I was hooked from the first sentence. NM Silber has a way of writing that is just comfortable and draws you in. The humor that she adds to her books make them fun. If you like kids in your books you will love Adam's nephew. I was Laughing so hard a few times I had tears rolling down my cheeks.
Lily and Adam have known each other practically their whole lives and it has been a rocky road. Having started in preschool with picking on each other their love/hate relationship takes a turn when they chase a potential burglar away, and they realize that there is more love than hate.
This book has lots of fun twists and turns with some mystery and adventure thrown in. I absolutely loved this book and hope that you enjoy it also.

How many glasses of champagne did I have last night? Gemma Carlson groaned, gritting her teeth against the stabbing pain that seemed to be spreading through her brain. She didn’t want to open her eyes, afraid of what she would find. Right now she was only sure of two things. One, her head hurt like a son of a bitch and two, she was very, very naked. Prying open her right eye, she tried to focus on her surroundings, but instead of seeing intricate, golden wallpaper, she found the walls were now light colored. A couch sat in the corner of the room, though her room had had a tiny office chair and desk. The landscape on the wall was new, too. She opened both eyes, blinking rapidly at the dryness, and realized she had no idea where she was. Which meant she obviously wasn’t in her hotel room. A light snore behind her caught her attention and she stiffened, turning her head slowly to look at her bedmate. She sucked in a breath at the sight of dark curls and a broad back, the only things visible above the heavy comforter. What have I done? Sitting up, she swallowed down the rolling nausea and fought the splitting headache, catching her face in her hands. And then she felt it. Something cool and metal on her finger. Something that definitely shouldn’t be there. Pulling her hands back, she stared at the large three-stone diamond ring on her left index finger and froze.Playlist

My Review:
Good Girls Don't Date Rock Stars by Codi Gary
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I absolutely Loved this book. I couldn't put it down and who needs sleep when they have a book to finish. This is the first book I have had the pleasure of reading by Author Codi Gary, but It will not be the last. It ran the emotional gambit and left me wanting it to not end.
I loved the characters. Gemma is a fun lovable bookstore owner and single mom. She accidentally meets up with her son's father, Travis, A country music rock star, who she hasn't told about their son and marries him in a drunken ceremony in Las Vegas without telling him he has a son..... Who can resist the comedy of errors that situation will bring out.
The Love between Travis and Gemma is a sweet story, but I have to say that the supporting characters at times steel the show. I love their son Charlie and Gemma's best friend Grace is hysterical...
My favorite line in the book is when Grace who is defending Gemma as always, when talking about whether Travis will forgive her says "If he doesn't, then he's a dunce-capped idiot who will find himself in a pair of cement shoes learning to speak trout." That cracked me up and made my sleepless night totally worth it!
In case I haven't made it obvious I would Recommend this book to anyone and everyone who loves a good love story... I will definitely be checking out other work by Codi Gary!

EXCERPT
If just looking at him took my breath away, I know his kisses could do much more. When his hand touches my cheek, my heart begins to race. I can’t do this. I can’t focus on doing my job if I’m distracted by this man. Slowly raising my hands, placing them on his chest I push him back.
“Do not block me in like that. You’re lucky I didn’t toss you across the room. I don’t like feeling as if I have no way out. That’s rule number two. Rule number three, don’t think we can ever be more than what we are now.” Smiling to myself as I walk towards the counter, I have an urge to put it between us. Needing the space to clear my head, Luke has me all hot and bothered. My brain isn’t working right now. All I can think of is riding him all night long, and that just isn’t an option if I want us to survive this.
“You should know I’ll fill you in on the rules as we go. There are so many I tend to only remember them as they’re appropriate.” My back still to him, I sigh. “Luke you have to leave, I have things I have to do
before we attack. I have to finish a lot more charms for you, decide whom I’m going to bring in to help and figure out what is going on. I can’t do that with you here.”
I hate hearing myself say those words but they had to be said, he has to leave. I turn around to find my shop empty. Well at least that was sorted out. Now to figure out the answers to all of my questions.
Why I lost control of my powers?
Why had those powers refused to return to me for a time?
How in the hell was I able to talk about the past with Shax?
How did I even know the things I said?
Why had my hair and eyes changed colors?
What did it all mean?
Meet Angee
I was born in Houston, Texas in 1977, to an interesting family. My mother and father separated when I was young. I lived with my mother who later remarried a wonderful man, who had a huge impact on me as I grew up. I have always had a love of reading, mostly paranormal.
As a child, I would sneak up at late night when My mom thought she was sleeping, to read. We moved around a lot, eventually settling in Deep East Texas. I married at a young age and eventually divorced. I have raised my now 16 year old son alone. I work full time as a pre-hospital nurse and sometimes sees things that would make the rest of you have nightmares. On other days, I'm blessed to see miracles.
These things are what drive me to write.
I describes my job as- “I fight to save people’s lives. Sometimes I lose, sometimes I win. It's the emotional roller coaster of that job, which leads me to writing. I'm able to put those emotions into my characters and let them out of my heart and soul.”
In 2006, I was diagnosed with a rare disease, shortly after that I was told I would be on full disability in five years and most likely to be dead in ten. I've fought to live a normal life every day since and I'm beating those odds. I work at a demanding job, I'm a single mom, care for an elderly mother, and two hyperactive dogs.
On April 17, 2013 I faced another challenge in my life when my home was destroyed in the explosion in West, TX. I lost many friends and almost everything I own. Once again I have fought to get through it and I'm finally starting to feel normal again.

Chosen For Power (Women of Power Series, Book 1)
Somebody is out to destroy Elle Simpson and everything she’s worked hard to build. As the CEO of a corporate conglomerate, Elle is used to fighting off challengers. However, this new threat comes at a time when she finally lets her guard down to meet Prince Charming. And it’s unlike anything she’s been up against before.
Drake Charles’s work on mobile technology has made him a wealthy, powerful man.
But he quickly sheds the fame and publicity for a more private life, which earns him the label as a man of mystery. Drake adds to that mystery every year when he hosts a masquerade ball for charity. It’s also his best chance to find the one thing he really wants . . . true love.
Having met behind masks of anonymity, Elle and Drake enjoy a whirlwind night of romance that leaves them both wanting more. But Elle must question everything and everyone as she battles to save her life and career. Can Elle trust Drake to help get her life back or will she lose everything?

My Review:
Chosen for Power by Kathleen Brooks
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Another Phenomenal Success for Kathleen Brooks!!
I received this book as a complimentary copy for an honest review. I fell in love with Kathleen Brooks writing with the Bluegrass series and was very excited to have this opportunity.
How do you follow an amazing series like the Bluegrass series? Well if you are Kathleen Brooks you start what promises to be another amazing series about Strong, Passionate, and Independent Women.
Chosen for Power is the first book in the Women of Power series and introduces you to Ellie Simpson who is CEO of a very prominent company and a powerhouse herself. She meets Drake at a charity masquerade ball and sparks fly. The story is heartwarming, fun, and as with all of Kathleen’s books has some mystery & suspense thrown in so that it keeps you guessing what is next.
I loved this book, and I have a feeling that this will be another series that I’m waiting (somewhat impatiently ) for the next book to come out each time. There is one scene that got put onto the favorite scene list in a novel (don’t want to give away too much), but let me just say that I know I will be revisiting Ellie and Drakes story the same way I do with only my favorite novels.
Congratulation Kathleen on a wonderful book and I can’t wait for the next chapter.
